For me photography is a means of expressing ideas, emotions and memories that go beyond words.  My interest in photography began when I was given a 110 camera at the age of six.  I thoroughly enjoyed documenting family occasions; holidays; outings with friends and any animal I came across on still film.

At the age of 15, my interest in photography grew when I worked in a local photography lab developing 135mm; 110 and APS format films.  This encouraged me to get my first SLR film camera – a Canon T50 (which I still own) then later a Canon EOS 300v film camera.  There has been no turning back since. I thoroughly enjoy capturing intricate details in the natural and built environment(s) where I particularly enjoy photographing water, landscapes, buildings and still objects. There is nothing more relaxing, satisfying or rewarding than developing your own negatives and loosing track of time in a dark room, printing your own photographs.

In 2010, I purchased my digital SLR (after resisting for so long) and I have been learning the ways of digital since. But I do tend to switch to analogue every now and again?.  Everyone at the club is so friendly and is keen to share their knowledge and expertise.   I thoroughly enjoy the interaction with others who have a passion for photography and I am dedicated to enhancing my photography skills further.
