Jurassic period; A retired entomologist whose interest in photography started whilst at Leeds University, a long time ago. Following this during a two year spell in the Far East, I learned that cameras, lens’, film, and very high humidity plus 100° in the shade, are not a good mix.
Hunter-gatherer time; A small part of my working life with Farmers and Growers was spent making photographic records of pests and their damage to plants and livestock, for inclusion when good enough, in the National Archive. After joining A.C.C in 1980, and later the RPS, I was ‘hooked’ on the world of, dare I say it, more artistic pictures. The work of Ernst Haas fascinated me, and I still think it quite inspirational.
Climate change age; I continue to enjoy looking for photogenic subjects, and hope to have an eye for an interesting image for a few more years to come.
